Paynter Dixon partners with ARDC for inaugural Sydney MasterBlast event

May 21, 2019 By ARDC Leave a Comment

Rowan Harman, Manager TCM; Glenn Matthews, CEO ARDC; James Boyd, Executive Chairman Paynter Dixon; Tony Hunter, CEO TCM.

LEADING DESIGN and construction company Paynter Dixon is partnering with the Australian Racing Drivers’ Club (ARDC) to present this year’s inaugural Sydney MasterBlast featuring the Muscle Car Masters™ at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The Paynter Dixon Sydney Masterblast will be held over the weekend of Saturday 31 August – Sunday 1 September with a non-stop program of events and attractions running all day then under lights on Saturday before a full day finale on Father’s Day Sunday.

Paynter Dixon is well-known for its support of Australian motorsport across a number of categories, and is a naming sponsor of the current Touring Car Masters series and Historic Touring Cars NSW Group N: both of which feature in the Sydney Masterblast program.

The event marks the return of the annual Muscle Car Masters event, now in its 14th year, to its traditional Father’s Day weekend date, and also the return of the popular Touring Car Masters series after an absence of several years.

“Paynter Dixon is a valued and enthusiastic supporter of Australian motorsport at a number of levels,” said ARDC President Andrew Leithhead.

“With its current involvement in Touring Car Masters and Group N’s Historic Touring Cars NSW, it was a perfect fit to have Paynter Dixon closely associated with our enhanced muscle car event.”

Paynter Dixon’s Executive Chairman, James Boyd said his company was proud to be part of the inaugural event that promises great racing for fans throughout the weekend, including four categories under lights on Saturday evening.

“As naming sponsor for the Touring Car Masters Championship, we are pleased the series is featured on the bill as part of the iconic Muscle Car Masters program,” he said.

“We look forward to working with Andrew Leithhead, Glenn Matthews and the ARDC team to make this unique event a memorable one for fans and competitors alike.”

Touring Car Masters category manager, Tony Hunter said the TCM teams were looking forward to returning to Sydney Motorsport Park after a three-year sojourn.

“I know there are lots of fans in and around Sydney that will welcome the news that TCM is back as part of the Muscle Car Masters and racing on their home track,” he said.

The Paynter Dixon Sydney MasterBlast event will celebrate Australia’s Muscle Car heritage, along with some modern-day SuperKart and motorcycle racing.

Saturday evening racing under lights will feature Touring Car Masters, Group C & A Heritage Touring Cars, Group N Historic Touring Cars and Production Touring Cars.

Saturday and Sunday will also see Sports Sedans, Classic Sports Sedans Group S and SuperKarts in action, along with classic motorbikes on Sunday.

As a special treat for Father’s Day, there will be a MasterCruise on offer on Sunday morning where fans can get out on the track in their own car for a controlled cruise with seatbelted passengers on board.

There will also be a Mega Muscle Car Show’n’Shine where some of the best turned-out muscle cars in the country will be on display.

2017 AUSSIE MUSCLE CAR RUN – Calling all muscle car lovers!

May 12, 2017 By ARDC Leave a Comment

The Leukaemia Foundation is calling on muscle car enthusiasts across Australia to register now for its epic 2017 Aussie Muscle Car Run this October, covering 1901kms from Eastern Creek NSW to Adelaide SA, and spanning four states.

The run is open to cars from the golden era of Bathurst during the 60s and 70s, with replicas welcome. Cars of ‘special interest’ will also be considered.

The Aussie Muscle Car Run started in 2011 and has become one of Australia’s ultimate road trips. The seven-day leisure car cruise has now raised more than $2 million to help families facing a blood cancer diagnosis.

Aussie actor and renowned motor enthusiast, Shane Jacobson joined the run in 2016 and had so much fun he’s coming back.

“I’ll be joining the run for three days from Day 3, heading through the Snowy Mountains and ending up at the Winton Raceway, which is a great track, trust me,” Shane said.

“Most importantly, Aussie Muscle Car Run raises vital funds for the Leukaemia Foundation, which makes it that little bit more special.”

Aussie Muscle Car Run National Chairman Kevin May said the iconic event gave participants a chance to showcase their cars, which this year includes a wide range of Toranas, GT Falcons, Ford Mustangs, Valiants, Statesman, Capris, Fairmonts and Monaros.

“We’re inviting car lovers to join us on a journey in their beloved beasts which includes exclusive access to motoring events and track time at Sydney 2017 Australian Muscle Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park, Eastern Creek, plus Winton Motor Raceway and Portland Drags,” Kevin said.

“Participants get to experience driving their cars on tracks that these iconic beasts were designed and built for.

“It’s a coming together of like-minded, passionate and proud car enthusiasts,” he said.

Aussie Muscle Car Run registration is open now at www.aussiemusclecarrun.com where you’ll find a detailed itinerary. Be quick as places are limited.

Entry is $1200 per person covering accommodation, breakfasts, dinners, motorsport, car livery, overnight security and much more. Teams are then asked to raise a further $4000 towards blood cancer research and patient support. The event is open to two member teams of drivers and co-drivers.

About the Leukaemia Foundation

Leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma are all types of blood cancer and they can develop in anyone, of any age, at any time. Another 35 Australians are diagnosed every single day.

The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to helping Australians with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders survive and then live a better quality of life.

The Leukaemia Foundation exists because of the generous and ongoing support of the Australian community.
